Audition Process

City Church Choir is accepting all auditions for volunteer musicians via video submissions. We will review your videos and email you back within 2 weeks with the next steps in the process. Live/in-person auditions are not currently being offered. If you are having any issues with submitting your audition, please email us at music@citychurchtallahassee.com.

You may find some portions of your audition to be difficult. Please do not feel discouraged if you are finding yourself unable to complete your audition with 100% accuracy. We are anticipating vocal difficulties in order to determine your range, vocal flexibility and overall skill level.

You will find a downloadable file below called “Audition Resources.” Inside, you will find a folder for your voice part. Please listen to the “PRACTICE Track” file to practice your part and use the “AUDITION Track” file to record yourself singing your part.

Voice Parts

  • Females- You have a choice to audition on either the Soprano voice part or the Alto voice part. If you are unsure of which one to audition on, sing along to both practice tracks and see which one feels the most comfortable.

  • Males- All men will audition for a Tenor-Baritone voice part. If you sing in a lower range, please try your best to audition anyway. We are not currently looking for bassists, however we may in the future.

  • Note: Auditioning for a certain voice part does not mean that will be the voice part you are asked to sing. We may ask you to sing a different voice part depending on the initial size of the choir.

CREATING & SUBMITTING YOUR AUDITION

1. Practice

Download the Audition Resources file and start practicing.

2. Watch

Watch our tutorial video on how to locate the audition files and submit your audition.

3. Upload

Upload your video via Youtube or Voice Memo submission.

  • For Youtube: Under privacy settings, select "Unlisted" and title with "Your Name - City Church Choir Audition".

  • For voice memo: Submit your file in the Choir Audition Form.

4. Submit

Submit your audition by filling out the Choir Audition Form. Include the YouTube link to your video on the form.
