PREMARITAL MENTORINg

At CITYCHURCH, we are for marriages that will honor Christ and build His Church. We offer premarital mentorship by a team of trained mentors who are all married couples overseen by the Pastoral Staff at CITYCHURCH. These mentors are ready to invest in engaged couples preparing for marriage and also to provide guidance and support to married couples.  At CITYCHURCH, our premarital mentoring process is two fold: we desire to teach and provide a strong Biblical basis and concept for marriage (as it is an earthly picture of the Gospel); we also want to provide couples with tools and skills to practically navigate life together. Therefore, our premarital mentoring program is broken up into two phases:

  1. Engaged couples who have been approved to go through the CITYCHURCH premarital mentoring process will attend a 4 week "Meaning of Marriage" class that is offered once a quarter. This class will meet weekly for 4 subsequent weeks, same night and time each week (usually at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday). SPRING classes will be 4/7 - 4/28, 2024.

  2. Once this "Meaning of Marriage" class is completed, engaged couples are paired up with a mentor couple who will continue with the practical tools and skills portion of this program by using our Prepare/Enrich tools for 4-6 weeks.  This portion can be scheduled at the convenience of the engaged and mentor couples' schedules.

  3. Upon completion, engaged couples can receive their completed premarital counseling certificate often needed when obtaining a marriage license. 

You may also request for a CITYCHURCH pastor to officiate your wedding ceremony. Pastors are available depending upon personal availability.

Cost and Registration

The cost for the entire premarital process is a total of $75, which includes the cost of materials and the Prepare Enrich survey. This amount will be paid once you officially apply for the program, it is not required at the initial request. As a part of the official application both the bride and the groom will fill out the application form (button below). After a request for mentorship is received, each will make a $20 payment at the beginning of the Meaning of Marriage class. The remaining $35 will be paid directly to Prepare Enrich for the second half of our Premarital.
