As construction continues on our new building, we will become portable once again, and will be meeting on Sundays for services at Chiles High School. We want to be “portable for a purpose.” We want to continue to reach our city with the gospel. Being portable allows us to speed up our construction time, while also allowing us to reach another part of our city. We think the best thing we can be for our city is a dynamic and vibrant local church - whether that's from our hub here at Sessions or Sunday mornings at Chiles for this season, we don't want to slow down as a church. We must keep the mission going forward!

Called to Serve.

It takes a lot of people to make Sundays happen! From set up and tear down, to serving in KiDS, there is a place for you to serve.  Join a team today!

Chiles FAQS

Chiles FAQS

FAQ’s

  • • This move will significantly speed up construction allowing us to move back one year sooner.

    • This will also provide consistent & distraction-free Sunday services.

  • The current construction timeline, if we live through construction and remain on our campus at Sessions road, has the project complete in summer of 2027. If we move offsite, the project will be complete in summer of 2026, a full year sooner.

  • We explored several options for meeting spaces during this season and schools were one of the best options. Chiles High School was chosen because it has a large auditorium with seating capacity of 1,200. It has ample parking, easy access on and off campus, and they are willing and excited to host us!

  • We remain committed to making sure your kids continue to experience safe, age-appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative and relevant way. For our elementary students, we plan to use available classroom space for small group time. For our nursery and preschool children, we will create designated areas using partitions in the cafeteria. We're still working through the logistics of worship time and how that will function in a more portable setup. As always, we will continue to use our established check-in and security processes to ensure a safe environment for all children.

  • We are continuing to explore our options and are actively working on solutions to ensure our STUDENTS ministry remains strong and vibrant, while also maintaining consistency. We will keep our families updated as we continue to solidify a location for their weekly gathering.

  • The Salt Company is moving full speed ahead in our mission to proclaim the gospel and make disciples across the college campuses in Tallahassee. Salt will meet on campus at Florida State throughout the summer. Once the fall semester begins, we have been given the opportunity to use a sister church's facilities if needed. Our staff will stay actively engaged on campus during the week, and our team of 85+ student leaders will help mobilize college students to attend and serve City Church services every Sunday.

  • City Groups will continue as normal. Our Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies will continue as normal as most of our groups meet away from the church anyway and we will find alternate locations for the groups that do meet at the church currently. At this time, we are still exploring possible alternate locations for at least one Men’s and one Women’s Gathering during our time being portable. Our Equip classes will take a break as we are revamping the format for the future to be one-night only events on specific topics. Finally, our City Church University classes will continue in the Fall and Spring at an offsite location.

  • Recently our leadership team was approached by Sperry with an interesting question.  “If your church were to move off site, we can get this project done and hand you the keys to move back in, in one year instead of two.”  After many hours of meeting, seeking counsel, and prayer we kept on falling back to the question, “What will allow us to make more disciples of Jesus, faster?”  and we believe that moving off site will answer that question and allow us to not only move into our new facility faster but will allow us to live missionally in the next year like we never have before.
