We desire to see every City Church member living on mission locally, and engaging in missions globally through prayer, giving, sending and/or going to the nations with the Gospel.

Let’s Go!…to the nations with the Gospel. City Church is committed to reaching our neighbors and the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We do this first by living on mission in Tallahassee, and by sending people out on short-term trips or as long-term missionaries globally. We want to do our part in seeing every tribe, tongue and nation reached with the Gospel and worshiping our Lord Jesus Christ.

Currently, we have dynamic Global Partnerships in London, Berlin Cambodia, South Asia and other strategic locations around the world. We’re also exploring similar partnerships in multiple unreached areas of the world. City Church is excited to be sending more missionaries to the nations and to help plant Salt churches in college towns across the USA.

WHY DO WE GO?

Jesus tells us to “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…,” (Matthew 28:19). That’s why we go - to obey Jesus and see Him worshipped globally. But where do we start? Living life on mission starts at home, right where we are; where we live, work, study and play, but it doesn’t stop there. The more that we tell those around us about Jesus and what He has done for us, the more likely we are to find our role in getting His message to those who have no access to the gospel oversees. And conversely, the more we engage in reaching the nations globally, the more we will be engaged in reaching our neighbors locally as well. They feed into each other. As the apostle Paul writes, “How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him? ” (Romans 10:14)

why do we send?

What did Paul say next? “And how how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent?” (Romans 10:15). Missionaries need to go and we have the opportunity and responsibility to send them. The world is waiting to hear about Jesus Christ our Savior. As we grow in the gospel together as a church, we send one another out on mission. We want to see our city transformed by the love of God and the power of Christ. We also want to see people of all ages leveraging their lives — including their gifts, skills, passions, and opportunities — to take the gospel to the world. What’s your role in God’s global mission? God may be leading you to go for a week, a summer, 2 years, or a lifetime. We’re committed to equipping you for this mission, sending you to the nations and holding the rope for you as you go, for his glory.  SEND CLASS: GLOBAL MISSIONS

SEND Class is a great starting point for people interested in missions. This 4-week class helps people grow more aware of the global need for the gospel and missionaries to be sent to the nations. You will also be presented with exciting ways to get more involved and go on trips. No past missions experience required — only a desire to learn more about God’s global mission and how to join in. In this class, we’ll cover topics like:

• Biblical and theological foundations of missions

• The role of the local church in global missions and sending efforts

• What it means to “be sent” and how City Church cares for those we send

• Life on the Field and practical missionary skills for everyday life

• How to be involved in global missions at City Church

There are many ways to be sent for the gospel, right here in Tallahassee. We partner with like-minded organizations in our city to meet real needs and to tell those around us about Jesus.

Through our Community Partners, we are able to engage in missional efforts and gospel issues like orphan care, poverty, unplanned pregnancy, special needs ministry, and more.

REACHING OUR NATION THROUGH THE LOCAL CHURCH.

Planting gospel churches is God’s “Plan A” for reaching the nations — and there is no “Plan B!” We are committed to investing in the work of planting churches across the country through strategic partnerships where church members can go short-term and long-term to live and serve among North Americans for the purpose of sharing Jesus and glorifying God.

As we wait for the right time to plan domestic mission trips, take a look at our active partnerships:

NEW ORLEANS, LA

In partnership with the North American Mission Board, we support new churches being planted in New Orleans that will reach the city with the gospel in their local contexts. The metro New Orleans area is home to over 1 million people, but not nearly enough gospel-centered churches to reach these 1 million with the gospel.

City Church supports three of the 29 currently active church plants in New Orleans: Connect Church, Lakeshore Church, and Immanuel Community Church.

GAINESVILLE, FL

Salt Church is a new church plant coming to Gainesville, FL, with a mission to reach local university students as well as families and professionals in the city with the gospel of Jesus. Between short-term trips and sending college students to be part of this new church, we’re excited to see many more people in Florida reached for Christ through our partnership with Salt Church.

 Berlin, Germany

Berlin is home to over 3.5 million people with over 300 languages spoken and hundreds of nationalities represented in this global city. At the same time, less than 2% of Berliners believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

City Church is supporting church planting efforts and reaching university students from around the world. Through church planting, as well as through sending missionaries on Salt Global summer trips and long-term laborers with the International Mission Board, we’re joining in the opportunity to see this global city reached with the gospel. As people come and go from Berlin, the hope of Christ goes with them, and we pray to see many unreached peoples transformed with the gospel because of mission work happening in Berlin and global cities like it.
